Thank you for looking into volunteering with our Eastman Commons Community, Inc. (“Eastman Commons”).
Eastman Commons is a dynamic not-for-profit organization committed to rebuilding the lives of adults who are among the low-income working poor or who have been challenged in their life with special needs like having been formerly homeless in our community. Our goal is to inspire each person with a renewed sense of hope and enable each of them to achieve his or her full potential. Volunteering with Eastman Commons will provide you with an opportunity to learn more about the challenges of living with poverty, loneliness, hopelessness and other special needs, while gaining valuable experience and knowledge about affordable housing, supportive service networks, government programs, and the human service and political systems in Rochester.
An application form is included. It is designed to give us an idea about your interests and skills so that we are able to match you with a suitable volunteer connection within our organization. The form will also provide you with an opportunity to review the volunteer activities or needs available within our organization, and indicate which of these would be best suited to your interest, experience and skills, and guiding desire.
Once we have received your completed form and reviewed it in concert with our current priorities, one of our volunteer coordinators will contact you to outline the next steps and timing in our recruitment and assignment process.
